This year Pink Ribbon, the well-known organisation in the fight against breast cancer, is renaming the month of May as The Pink Month. Their yearly march for breast cancer awareness is back with even more routes and walks than before.

One out of three cancers can be prevented by a healthy and active lifestyle

This year’s Pink March will take place from May 1st until May 31st. Ella Leyers will be participating as the new ambassador. She would like to make an extra effort in spreading awareness about cancer and how to fight against it. And so do we! Ella also challenges everyone to join her in taking 10.000 steps a day in the month of May. Will you join her?

What is the challenge?

This year, wandelknooppunt.be is happy to support the Pink Ribbon charity and its Pink March campaign. That’s why the organization increased the number of walks from 7 to 20. Therefor they’ve mapped out 10 unique walks in Flanders and 10 in Wallonia. Each walk counts about 10,000 steps, which comes down to 7 to 8 km, good for an hour and a half of walking.

Unlike many other charity events, this Pink March doesn’t take place on one day. Instead it is a commitment you take on for an entire month whereby you’re free to participate from any location. In this way Pink Ribbon, in collaboration with wandelknooppunt.be, want to stimulate the people who want to join this challenge. They also want to work towards a healthier and more active lifestyle.
