Skincare review: The ordinary

After many years and trying different products, Julie finally found the perfect skincare routine that makes her skin glow. Be sure to read on to discover what The Ordinary products have meant for Julie her skin.

I honestly have to admit that I’ve become pretty lazy when it comes to skincare. Maybe it’s thanks to all the different products I’ve used over the years that I couldn’t see any results of. Or it is because I already had given up hope and accepted that I would have the skin of a teenager for all of my life. Until one day I came across the products of The Ordinary on the internet. A lot of people hyped these products and the results looked promising. And on top of that the products were vegan and cruelty free

Be careful when ordering

Once I was completely convinced, I placed myself in front of the laptop to order. But it turned out that all this wasn’t that simple at all. It is absolutely not recommended to use certain products in the same routine.

On their website you’ll find a whole guide that explains you how to combine their products. So it’s best to check this out before you place an order. Also on Asos.com, where we got the product shots from, they give extra informations.

The bottles all look very similar as well, but are clearly provided with the ingredients. Since the packaging is very minimalistic, you’ll notice a serious difference in the price you pay for the products. And to be honest, I like the minimalistic packaging in my bathroom cabinet.

Julie’s personal selection

Once the products arrived, I went into the bathroom with good courage. I have a combined skin, with a tendency to acne and large pores. That’s why I chose products that are helping against these problems. The products I bought are:

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution: A peeling that can be used twice a week, preferably in the evening for a maximum of 10 minutes. It counteracts acne, dullness, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin structure.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum: A serum that focuses on oil regulation and minimizing pores. Apply in the morning and evening

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Serum: A serum that focuses on hydration and recovery. Apply in the morning and evening

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA: A cream that focuses on hydration and recovery. This is the last step of the skin care routine and it serves as a moisturizer. Apply in the Morning and evening.

The review

After testing these products, in the same order as mentioned above, the results are surprisingly good. My pores are visibly reduced and my face is looking much brighter. It is also super convenient that the bottles contain a pipette, which makes it easy to take the right amount. I definitely recommend these products. The Ordinary has proven that skincare doesn’t always have to be expensive to be effective.

Are you planning on testing these products? Then be sure to read the guides carefully to avoid making wrong combinations which can damage to your skin. Next to that I recommend them as they really work for my skin.
