Safety first

Faraway travels and long flights are absolutely out of the question these days. But thanks to Antwerp’s city you won’t get bored and that without having to get on a plane. Thanks to this new and inspirational platform, you can still make the most of your weekend trips or short getaways. And this in a corona proof way! You can choose the activities on the base of your ideal holiday. Whether it’s relaxing in the city or a sportive activity, there’s something for everyone. Do you need to be convinced? We will prove it with these tips.

Culture

For true culture lovers, the MAS and the Rubens House are certainly not unknown. But did you know that Antwerp has much more to offer than these two? For example, the Museum Mayer van den Bergh houses the unique art collection of the 19th-century art lover Fritz Mayer van den Bergh, which includes two beautiful paintings by Bruegel. And that in our lovely Antwerp.

For the sportive ones

Discover as much of Antwerp as possible thanks to the themed cycling routes. Choose from different paths, based on your own needs and wishes. If you prefer a smooth ride, choose the Easy-going route. If you rather like a challenge, then the Urban Jungle route is ideal for exploring the city. For people who like to have a drink stop once in a while, the Bollekesroute is the most logical choice. The route combines all kinds of Antwerp eye-catchers with relaxing drink stops, success guaranteed!

Shop till you drop

Also for the shopping queens among us, the city is the place to be. Besides the world-famous shopping street De Meir, Antwerp has six other charming shopping districts within walking distance. Each area has its own atmosphere and assets, so there’s something for everyone, and you’re sure to come home with a few shopping bags.

Food O’clock

Antwerp is the right place to end a successful day with a bang. Flatter yourself in a lounge chair with a cocktail in your hand at one of Antwerp’s atmospheric bars or enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants near the historic center, Het Zuid and Het Eilandje. Do you still crave some extra holiday atmosphere, especially the delicious worldly dishes? Then Antwerp North, with its multicultural influences, is the place for you.

Blogzine’s Favorites

As our team is often organizing meetings in Antwerp, we often go to our favorite places. This for lunch, dinner or after work drinks. The first place is our weekly meeting hotspot: Bubble Waffle Café, located between the main shopping street and the Grote Markt. Surrounded by little boutique stores and historical buildings, Bubble Waffle can be your hang out place to have a coffee break at or to enjoy a delicious brunch.

Another recommended address is Cindy’s favorite: Umami. This “high class” Sushi restaurant is the place to be for everyone who loves food sharing, the Asian cuisine and of course Sushi. Not only the food is worth the visit, their interior is cozy, warm and makes you feel relax while enjoying dinner.

Be sure to take a look at the website Antwerpen Straalt to discover much more and the currently organized activities. Very soon we will also share Blogzine’s personal favorite hotspots! So stay tuned…
