Managing your social media channels can be quite time-consuming and requires a lot of preparation. So to get the best return on investment out of it, it is therefore hugely important that every publication stands out and catches the attention of your followers or potential buyers. To help you with this, today we are sharing with you three important tips for writing good Social Media captions.
You are talking to your client, not “them”.
It’s all about the first sentence
We start at the beginning. Before you even post anything, we also need to think about the “why.” Why are you going to post this? What is your purpose? Be sure that you always post for some reason. For example: encourage your readers to interact with your content, or direct them to a particular page on your website.
In addition, one you know your purpose, it’s important that your first sentence stands out. Because your first sentence, that’s the most important thing about your caption. That’s because it makes them curious while scrolling, stop and read the rest of your text.
And before you start writing any further: remember that you are speaking to your customer, not “them.” So always write to one person! You’ll see, it helps generate more interaction.
Always tell a story
You are obviously not going to write an entire book, but create a storyline that fits your target audience and the product or service you offer. This is also called Storytelling.
People are always looking for something new and fun, and you don’t want to lose them! So grabbing attention can be done through a question, which you then build on afterwards and offer the solution to: your product/service. And that’s how you get people to your website! Or you convince people to do something with your social media post.
Make them do something
The last thing you want is for them to do nothing with the information you’ve just shared after all the time they’ve spent on your profile. Therefore, always provide a call-to-action. A call-to-action is simply an instruction to your audience on what to do next, such as clicking on a link or signing up for your newsletter.
So always think of a fun way at the end, just before they lose focus again, to convince them to stay with you: and of course, buy!
