September is not the easiest month. We have to fly back in after having vacation, often start new challenges and also often lack the motivation to fly back in. The Blogzine team is also just coming out of annual leave and is now preparing for the upcoming projects in 2023. To motivate you to fly back in, Cindy is sharing 3 very important tips with you today.
One step at a time. You’ll get there!
#1 Be realistic with your planning
When you come out of vacation it seems like the mountain of work and everything you still want to accomplish are all coming at you at once. Don’t start everything headlong and be realistic. See what is a priority and what needs to be done immediately. Often this is answering your emails and updating your web shop/website. Afterwards, you can see what you can add to your to-do list for that day and that’s how you re-plan your coming weeks.
If you don’t work step by step, and let everything come at you in an unstructured way, you will quickly become overwhelmed and need another vacation within a week.
Tip: Flying Tiger and Hema have super cute week planners! These will help you organize your entire planning.
#2 Keep setting goals and reward yourself
The easiest way to stay motivated is to work by objective and target. This helps ensure that you know why you are working and keeps you on track. After all, distractions are never far away!
To help you with this, it is best to set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. From something small to something really big: it’s all allowed and possible, as long as it remains realistic!
Examples per type of goal:
– Daily: What do you want to get done on your to-do list? What client do you want to bring in? What grade do you want to achieve?
– Weekly: How many orders do you want to achieve this week? How many emails to potential customers do you want to send? What is your grade for the week?
– Monthly: What is your target for the month? What is the next journey you want to plan and is it achievable if you meet your monthly target? Have you finished your new content or marketing strategy?
– Annual: What do you want to achieve in revenue? What projects do you want to work on? What new launch or collection are you planning?
Once you’ve set your goals, it’s time for the next step: attach rewards to them as well. This is how you keep yourself motivated! I too do this personally. For example: I love to travel. Therefore, I give myself targets for what I want to save. And once I earn that amount, I treat myself to a trip. But you can just as easily do this with an education to improve your skills, a new camera or phone, and so on! Both your goals and rewards are up to you.
#3 Surround yourself with positive people
The last tip I give you is also suddenly the most important for me: surround yourself with positive people. Because the people you surround yourself with have a huge impact on your life. They can influence your thoughts, emotions and behaviors in both positive and negative ways. So choose them wisely! Investing your time with the wrong people is a waste of time. And time is money.
And above all, don’t feel bad or guilty if your circle changes. You don’t just grow as a person and an entrepreneur: your business grows too, and so do your contacts, values and priorities in life. And when some relationships no longer fit into this, it’s better to leave them behind than to let them hold you back.
